While scoring the film it became clear to Tom that Guantanamo didn’t necessarily require it’s own melodic theme, but rather it needed its own sonic identity. The beauty of this approach was that as each character had their own interaction with Guantanamo, their thematic material could be effected and mangled into this new sonic language.
