Mrs Harris Goes to Paris

Score Concepts

Rael Jones

In this section Rael touches upon some of the concepts behind the score, including musical-like  scoring and whistle-able melodies. Much of the soundtrack focusses on it’s core roles, which Rael discusses in this video.

The score for Mrs Harris Goes to Paris was written in part before the film was shot to allow for a number of scenes to be filmed alongside Rael’s score. This allowed the actors on set to react and respond to the music, particularly in the ‘Fashion Show’ sequence.

Rael includes some information about his approach to differentiating Paris from London with key relationships, as well as establishing the period with Jazz elements in the score.
